Some people just irk my tater...
So this whole Hurricane Ike situation... When safety officials and the weather people tell you to evacuate or face certain death, DO IT!!! Don't just hang out hoping for the best and then expect the same people who told you to leave to feel sorry for you that you were stranded on your roof in the storm. Don't you know that it costs money to fund a rescue mission? Money that could be better spent elsewhere if you had just listened to the people who obviously know more about the weather than you!!! Geez... it just irks my tater...

AMEN! Todd and I had almost this exact same discussion earlier this weekend! If you are told to evacuate and decide not to, don't be expecting any help! That sounds mean. Oh well.
My sister lives in Houston and they are on a week long curfew. They stayed in their house over the weekend with no electricity. His work called and told him they had a place for them to stay at in Corpus Christi. He work was even paying for the food. they were getting things ready to go when someone from their ward came and asked if they were ok. They said the were and that the were leaving for a couple of day. Hey guy looked at them like they were crazy. He told them the was no way they could get out of their subdivision because it was flooded. and they wondered why the guy was sopping wet. Sure enough three houses down it was flooded up to car windows. They were lucky that they were oblivious to it all. I thought it was funny - talk about living in your own little world...
